Annie Turner – Attorney
I’ve always said that if I hadn’t become an attorney, I would have become an engineer – not out of any particular affinity for science, but because I am a problem-solver at heart. Working on complex commercial transactions means that there is almost never a one-size-fits-all approach, and that’s where I thrive. I am motivated by knowing that there is always a solution and it’s my job to find it – whether it’s having a useful contact, building a relationship, mitigating a risk, or simply a matter of doing some creative thinking.
I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and attended Clemson University, where I studied political science, philosophy, and Spanish (and was lucky enough to witness two college football national championships). As an undergraduate, I interned for both a U.S. Senator and a U.S. Representative and served on three disciplinary committees, all of which stirred an appreciation for understanding how rules and regulations govern so many aspects of our lives. Those experiences inspired a deep-rooted curiosity and passion for the law that ultimately led me to attend the University of North Carolina School of Law. After graduating law school in 2022, I began my career practicing commercial real estate law in Raleigh representing owners and developers on a variety of real estate transactions and land use matters. I am licensed in North Carolina and currently in the process of waiving into the South Carolina Bar.
Outside of the law, I love anything outdoors – whether that’s hiking, paddleboarding, running, or just getting in 10,000 steps with my dog. I also enjoy experimental cooking, reading rom-coms, and exploring all that Charlotte has to offer. In fact, one of my favorite parts of my job is driving past one of my clients’ buildings or businesses and knowing that I played a role in bringing that project to life.
