Kayla Churchill - Attorney
I believe to be an effective attorney one must have empathy. I greatly enjoy people and invest in my client’s cases as if they were my own. I strive to accomplish, at a minimum, two successes with each case 1) achieving client goals and 2) maintaining a thriving relationship with the people I interact with during my work. Helping people is the reason I attended law school and the reason I practice today.
I grew up in Emerald Isle, North Carolina and then attended the University of North Carolina- Wilmington and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in English and Pre-Law. I was active in Student Government Association and Alpha Phi. I then continued my education at Appalachian School of Law where I was on the Moot Court team, Law Review and the Access to Justice Journal. During my time in law school I had the opportunity to do internships with the Charlotte Hornets NBA team and Fox News Corporate in New York, NY.
Shortly after graduation I was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar and I am currently involved in CREW Charlotte where I serve on the Student Outreach Committee. I was recently honored as a 2020 Connect Media CRE Next Generation award recipient and I am grateful to CREW Charlotte for the nomination. Outside of practicing law, I am an avid volleyball player and love visiting the beach as well as spending time with my goldendoodle, Palmer.
