Amber Mufale Westerduin - Attorney
My favorite part about practicing law is using my creativity to help people solve problems and achieve their goals. A self-proclaimed neat freak, it’s especially rewarding for me to organize complex transactions. I enjoy the process of researching the issues, digging into the details, piecing together what’s important, and then dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. As a former journalist, I have a deep appreciation for clear and timely communication; I respond to people quickly and I can’t stand having any of those unread email notification bubbles on my phone.
I’m a native New Yorker, but I have been calling Charlotte home since 2013. Outside of work, you can usually find me taking long walks through Madison Park with my two mini dachshunds, Maya and Calvin, or enjoying one of the many outdoor activities Charlotte has to offer. Most people are surprised to find out that I have trained in a variety of mixed martial arts and my hidden superpower is knowing the words to almost every song.
I graduated from Boston University in 2008 with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and then worked as a television news producer before going to law school. I graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 2012 and was admitted to the New York State Bar. Since moving to Charlotte, I have also been admitted to the North Carolina and South Carolina State Bars.
